"The Remains Lie" is a series of ceramic sculptures.
These sculptures are fossil and artifact looking reliefs of mythological creatures. Depictions of
decrepit bones and imprints from such creatures as: unicorns, fairies, dragons and sphinx. Drawing
on world wide ancient myths and documentation. Using research of existing fossil records,
mummification, the man in the ice, and currently living animal skeletal structures.

This gallery displays research drawings from specimens and replicas on display at Dinosaur National
Monument, UT and a traveling exhibit of Chinese fossils at OMSI, Portland, OR as well as from various
private collections and consultation from paleontologists. Participation in a recent dig in Montana
increased my knowledge of the look and feel of these mineralized relics as they are unearthed for the
first time.
